Welcome to the 8th St Marylebone Beavers 

A Birthday Greeting to the Mayor of London, Diehards Style (17/6/11)

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, received a Birthday Greeting with a difference this week, thanks to the 8th St. Marylebone Beavers and Cub and Scout Mum, Debby Waldron and her extraordinary cake making skills!!!



Mayor Boris took delivery of the cake on Friday morning, complete with ten "mini-Boris'" on top and a selection of Newspaper Headlines around the side, all edible of course. The Boris' were carefully made beforehand by our very own Beavers and one of the newspaper headlines read "Mayor Opens Scout HQ" which was more than a hint for his possible attendance at our formal opening at some point this year!!!



Feedback from the Mayor's office was very positive and they kindly provided us with the pictures that you see attached.

WELL DONE to Debby and The Beavers for their fine efforts!!!



Beaver Xmas Tidings 2010!!!!

A really well supported Carol Singing by the Beavers, Cubs & Scouts 
backed by their parents & Leaders saw us raise a fantastic £156. 00 for
St. Martins, £138.00 for one hours singing in Waitrose & £18. 00
raised at the Warwick Castle pub, 
(although by then my throat was a little rough).

On the strength of this I think we will carry out a few more fund raising
activities next year. It's great for all the Group Sections to be brought
together every now and then to work towards one goal.
It is also a real boost to promote our Group & Scouting
in the community.

Would you like to extend my sincerest thanks to the Waitrose
Management Team for allowing us to disrupt one of their evenings
& bring a smile to some of their patrons.
I'm sure St. Martins will be overjoyed as well.
