Cubs Scarecrow Challenge (25/1/12)

For tonight's meeting we had a farming theme and the pictures shown are taken from our 'Scarecrow Challenge'.

Each six had to dress up their scarecrow using old clothes, newspaper and string, the winners were promised their picture on the website! The winner was Abe, the scarecrow pictured in the blue shirt. Well done to Abe on what was a fun and successful night!!!

Looking Back On Christmas Cheer!!!

Beavers and Cubs Christmas Party 2011.

Our annual Christmas Party (fancy dress) was held on 14th December and all our Beavers and Cubs arrived in some brilliant costumes.       We had Cleopatra, Darth Vadar, Indiana Jones, and of course, Father Christmas in attendance, to name but a few!

Everyone enjoyed the games which included a fancy dress relay and a game which involved trying to eat as much chocolate as you can with a knife and fork! Which surprisingly turned out to be a favourite with everyone.

A Special Diehards Birthday Greeting For The Mayor of London (16/6/11)

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, received a very unusual Birthday Greeting this week thanks to the splendid efforts of our Beaver Colony and Cub/Scout Mum, Debby Waldron and her amazing cake making skills!!!!

The special Birthday Surprise featured no fewer than TEN "mini Boris'" on top of the cake, carefully crafted out of icing by the Beavers themselves, along with a spread of newspaper headlines around the outside of the cake, all edible of course. Our favourite headline was the one that read "Mayor Opens Scout HQ" which was a deliberate hint at a possible future Mayoral visit to the Mansergh to formally open our HQ!!!!

Feedback from the Mayor's office was very positive and he shared the incredible cake out amongst the rest of his Team on Friday afternoon.  To commemorate this unique event they kindly took some pictures for us too, which are here for you all to see!!!

WELL DONE once again to Debby and The Beavers for their amazing achievement!!!

Cubs Christmas Cheer 2010

A really well supported Carol Singing by the Beavers, Cubs & Scouts
backed by their parents & Leaders saw us raise a fantastic £156. 00 for
St. Martins, £138.00 for one hours singing in Waitrose & £18. 00 raised
at the Warwick Castle pub, (although by then my throat was a little rough).

On the strength of this I think we will carry out a few more fund raising
activities next year. It's great for all the Group Sections to be brought
together every now and then to work towards one goal.
It is also a real boost to promote our Group & Scouting in the community.

Would you like to extend my sincerest thanks to the Waitrose Management Team
for allowing us to disrupt one of their evenings & bring a smile to some of their patrons.
I'm sure St. Martins will be overjoyed as well.

Cubs Weekend Indoor Camp

For an interesting write up of our Weekend Indoor Camp at Branchet Lodge, Gilwell Park over the weekend of 29th/31st October, see Scout Events Section.

This was the first time in 18 long years that we have had all three Units (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts) together at a united camp.
