Kandersteg

Once every four years Scout Troops from the Greater London Middlesex West County are invited to attend an International Camp in a little town called Kandersteg in Switzerland.

It is an opportunity to meet Scouts from all over the world as well as partake in some of the most mind-blowing outdoor activities.

Kandersteg International Scout Centre KISC is a World Centre of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and was instigated by Baden Powell himself and sits above 1,000m in the Swiss mountains.

The Diehards have been recently in 2013 and 2017 and enjoyed many activities. We have climbed and hiked up mountains at approximately 2000m, took part in canyoning (which is essentially jumping off waterfalls down a high energy Alpine river), practiced our Bushcraft skills by the Lake Oeschinensee, climbed a Jacobs ladder, visited Bern, helped broadcast a radio show, enjoyed campfires, cheese and yogurt and much much more.
