Beaver Cleaner Streater

The Beavers spent just over half an hour around Alma square and Hill Road in St John's Wood litter picking and were amazed at just how much rubbish they gathered.

Beaver Leader Debby works with a lady called Jill Streater who has a web page 'litter picker upper 10 a day'. This is to encourage locals to use one of her special purple bags in support of cleaner streets by collecting just 10 pieces of litter a day. Debby thought it would be a good community activity and to show the Beavers how important it is to take your litter home or to dispose of it thoughtfully.

After a briefing they all ventured out and collected quite a pile in 40 minutes. The Beavers had so much fun seeing who could collect the most. We know who will be taking their litter home in future!

Great to see happy Beaver Scouts doing what most adults will turn away from. Well done!
